8/27/2008 -- M. Soccer Men's Soccer Holds Off Blackburn 2-1 in ExhibitionSPRINGFIELD, IL - The Prairie Stars men's soccer team held off a pesky Blackburn College team to take a 2-1 win in the only exhibition game of the season.
The first goal came off a hard shot by Brian Doellman from 25 yards out. In attempting to clear the ball, defender Devon Sims mis-hit the attempt and the ball rifled into the back of his own goal, giving UIS a 1-0 lead at the 34:55 mark of the first half. -more- | 8/22/2008 -- Volleyball UIS Volleyball Looks To Leave Lasting Mark The big one.

That’s what the UIS women’s volleyball team is trying to do in their last season as an NAIA institution. -more- | 8/19/2008 -- Volleyball Volleyball 2008 Schedule Released The UIS volleyball team will have a new look this season as it has seven new faces joining this year’s roster. No one, however, will get to see that new look for a while.
Unlike last season when the Prairie Stars were breaking in their new athletic arena with a lot of early-season home matches. This year’s schedule is bottom heavy – meaning UIS will be on the road for the first month of the season. -more- | 7/31/2008 -- Volleyball Volleyball Earns AVCA Academic Award SPRINGFIELD, IL - The 2007-08 Prairie Stars women's volleyball team was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as one of 22 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) institutions earning the AVCA Team Academic Award. The award honors volleyball programs that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale. -more- |
